On September 6 the Day of Belarusian Written Language was celebrated in Smorgon. Among the official guests of the festival there came a big 90 member delegation of Belarusian writers, representatives of all the six regions of the country and its capital city.

The festival program included performances of the Model Orchestra of the frontier troops of the Republic of Belarus as well as the performers of the church and classical music; book and printed media festival, theatrical performances Krev Castle and Pages of Smorgon History, sports and folklore ethnographic festivals, a Literature Hou, with Belarusian prose writers and poets participating, the Orthodox exhibition and the ceremony of passing the baton of the Festival to the representatives of the town of Khoiniki, the venue of the 17th Day of Belarusian Written Language 2010.

Numerous stars of the Belarusian pop art took part in the celebrations. Katya Ocean also arrived there with her program. She congratulated everybody on the festival and performed four of her songs in three languages.
